Steve Fulop Interview

This is the shortest version of the Steve Fulop interview. Unfortunately, I had to omit a lot of stuff because I had a lot of technical difficulties with it and it took a long time, so a lot of the interview was out dated.

I'll probably use a longer version of the interview cut into segments for the public access show.

This video has an interlace error, seen in the large sync blocks around the edges of fast-moving parts of the video. Make sure when you do your encode, you select interlace or de-interlace (progressive) to match your source content. And if it is interlaced source, nine times out of ten it's lower (or even) field dominant. If it's miniDV source (and it appears to be based on the DCT 4:1:1 chroma subsampling block I'm seeing), then it's ten times out of ten for both NTSC and PAL. My guess is you chose odd over even, or else your comp-app is defaulted to odd, which many are as odd represents the first field of the interlaced vid frame. The last time I saw an interlace error like this, it was in that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi video bloopers reel the DOD was passing around.
